Jamaica is one of the most searched Caribbean destinations for a reason: white-sand beaches, reggae and dancehall culture, jerk cooking, and an island energy that doesn’t slow down after 6pm. But most vacation packages funnel every traveler into the same north-coast resort strip. This trip goes the other way — south to Treasure Beach first, then straight into the middle of Kingston Carnival, one of the biggest cultural events on the island’s calendar.

Part One: Treasure Beach, South Coast

You’ll settle into a private villa estate on Jamaica’s least-touristy stretch of coast — beautifully appointed bedrooms, shared indoor-outdoor living space, and pool or ocean views, without another resort’s worth of strangers on your beach. Treasure Beach isn’t on most people’s Jamaica radar, and that’s exactly the point. It’s a fishing community on the south coast that never got built up into a resort corridor, so the pace is set by locals, not tour operators. Mornings might mean walking down to the water while the boats come in, afternoons are open for reading by the pool or wandering the village, and evenings are built around the chef’s table — whatever’s fresh that day, cooked for your group specifically, no menu required.

Part Two: Kingston Carnival

The trip shifts gears entirely: curated excursions, two group dinners, welcome and farewell nights, and your ticket into the Jamaica Carnival Breakfast Party — where the whole island shows up dressed to move. Getting Ready: Flights, Packing & Prep

Since international flights aren’t included, you have flexibility to fly in from wherever works best — most travelers connect through Kingston’s Norman Manley International Airport. Because the itinerary spans a relaxed villa stay and a high-energy Carnival, pack for both: swimwear and light, breathable clothing for the South Coast, and at least one statement outfit for the Breakfast Party, where dressing up is part of the culture. Travel insurance isn’t included either, but we strongly recommend it given how far in advance the trip is booked.
